Empowering the Next Generation: TREECO Invests in Local Education

 

In a powerful demonstration of community-first values, Millennium was delighted to receive a donation of £1000 from South Belfast based Social Enterprise TREECO. This contribution isn't just about the numbers; it represents a dedicated commitment to supporting local education and ensuring that children and young people have access to the resources and equipment they need to thrive.

 

TREECO which stands for Training , Reskilling , Education , Employment , Career Opportunities supports young people aged 16 – 24 who have barriers to Education and Employment and empowers them to make positive steps into learning and development , ultimately with the end goal of seeing them transition them into sustainable employment.

 

It is an environmental & trade based Social Enterprise covering a wide range of gardening and exterior maintenance but also works across a vast array of community-based project and initiatives , one of those being at Millennium Integrated Primary School.

 

Manager , Graham Bowden , who has had a son go through the school and currently has a daughter in Primary 2, said, ‘ TREECO is pleased to be able to make a donation to the school to support Miss Doyle in her efforts via running the marathon in May to raise much needed funds for new play equipment and resources for the school which is currently going through a capital rebuild process. The school have been extremely supportive to us as a social enterprise and it’s great to be able to give something back.

 

Social Enterprises are measured on impact rather than just profit and by reinvesting surplus revenue back into the local school system, TREECO aims to:
